Problem
Cyclone Idai devastated central Mozambique in March 2019. Pop-up clinics, food distribution points and school shelters kept moving, and survivors struggled to find them.
Solution
Even without reliable electricity and internet, the Equip Mozambique tech team quickly built and launched AIDai, an app with a live map of relief points (shelters, clinics, food), plus a guide and a report form. According to Equip Mozambique, the World Food Programme said the app was useful and was using it for other disasters too.
