Problem
The guesthouse recorded guests on paper. It needed digital check-in, a view of room occupancy and financial control.
Solution
The application was built by a colleague. Edson made the login page check the session on the server, set up the local Supabase environment and wrote the scripts and guide to copy all data from one Supabase project to another.
Technical decisions
01
Session checked on the server before login
The login page became a server component that reads the Supabase session and redirects signed-in users to the dashboard, without the form flashing on screen.
02
SQL that writes SQL to migrate data
With no pg_dump on the managed project, the scripts run in the SQL Editor and generate the INSERTs with format('%L'), which escapes values. The guide sets the exact order of schema scripts on the target.
