Problem

The library did not know who visited or why. Without numbers it was hard to plan services or show impact to partners.

Solution

A web app where visitors check in in three steps (gender, age group and purpose of visit), with an optional name. Management sees totals by gender, age and purpose, filters by date and exports records to Excel.

Technical decisions

    Name is optional

    Check-in asks only for what the statistics need. The name can be left blank, which keeps check-in fast and avoids storing personal data unnecessarily.

  2. 02

    Three steps with large buttons

    Gender, age group and purpose are each one tap, designed for a tablet or phone at the entrance.

  3. 03

    Excel export

    The library team works in spreadsheets; exporting filtered records fits the process it already had.
