Problem
Hotels outside the cities have several spread-out blocks, little or no fibre, and Wi-Fi that only reaches the reception. Guests, conference rooms and the pool shared one uncontrolled network.
Solution
Starlink as the main uplink, a Ruijie gateway at reception and mesh repeaters per block, with access points outdoors and at the pool. Separate SSIDs per zone (guests, rooms, conference, pool) and remote management through Ruijie Cloud, which shows clients and traffic and allows fixing issues without a site visit.
Technical decisions
01
Wireless mesh between blocks instead of cable
Running cable between blocks separated by gardens and paths was costly and slow. Ruijie repeaters chained from the reception gateway cover each block and can be replaced one at a time.
02
One SSID per zone
Separating guests, rooms, conference and pool shows where the traffic is and allows limiting one zone without affecting the others.
03
Cloud management for remote maintenance
The hotels are hours away by road. With Ruijie Cloud, topology, clients and traffic are visible from anywhere and many issues are fixed without a trip.
